100,000 hours to being exceptional- gooder than good

Been reading Malcom Gladwell's book Outliers. It takes 100,000 hours of practice to be exceptional at something. So today I asked someone at work how much time do they intend to spend getting good. Her response was 8 hours a week on weekends. So we sat down and calculated that she might become exceptional in 230 years.

How are you spending your 100,000 hours?

Wrong! :P

It's not 100 000 hours, it's 10 000 hours. I actually believe him, so if you do the calculation, it's about 3 hours a day for 10 years! I'm cramming all the hours to get better too.

But then again, quality is more important. have to be intense even if it's just 15 mins! :D

Oh yes you are right! Does that mean I can take a break now and finally get some sleep for a change? :)
